Fractal Crystal Focus

A crystalline focus the size of a closed fist, fused with planar energy that makes its facets seem to recede into themselves no matter how closely you look. The crystal pulses faintly when held, in a rhythm that does not quite match the wearer’s heartbeat — closer to the leyline pulse beneath Xen’Drik.

• Functions as an arcane focus.
• Grants +1 bonus to spell attack rolls and spell save DCs when the spell deals force or psychic damage.
• The bonus does not stack with other +1 focus effects.

History

Looted from a Slanted Circle Crystal Shardcaster in the resonator field, Session 12. Standard issue for Shardcasters of the Circle’s planar order. The Circle attunes these foci to specific ley lines during the wielder’s initiation — an outsider’s attunement appears to override that imprint, but Rudiger has noted that the focus still “feels reachable to” certain places, like the focus is indexing where it has been.

Approximately 500 gp to a discerning buyer. More valuable to a force/psychic-leaning spellcaster as a daily-use item.
