Lore
Long ago, planar tempest storms fused elemental energies into living crystal. The Prismatic VulfBear is one such aberration — a predator born of planar chaos, driven by a hunger for arcane energy and a lust for destruction. It tears through barriers between realms, seeking victims whose life essence it can shatter and absorb.

Planar Resonance: When struck by a spell or effect that deals force or radiant damage, it can use its reaction to absorb part of that energy, gaining resistance to that damage type until the end of its next turn.

Session 12 Encounter
Two Prismatic VulfBears defended the resonator’s mid-range, teleporting twenty feet at a time and leaving sprays of crystal in their wake. Mal’s thunder-based attacks (which the VulfBears were vulnerable to) cracked their carapaces faster than the party could otherwise have dropped them.
